The OEM-Channel Problem
Why Traditional OEM Channels Cost You More and Take Longer
A data center generator bought through a Tier-1 OEM channel carries hidden costs: dealer markup and lead-time queue. You pay a premium for the brand, then wait while your order sits behind hyperscale contracts.
Higher Costs
- 15-30% higher than factory direct
- More layers, higher margins
- You pay for the logo, not the value
Longer Lead Times
- 16-24 weeks typical lead time
- Queue delays you can’t control
- Missed timelines, delayed revenue
Slow Communication
- Endless email forwarding
- Slow answers, more back-and-forth
- Hard to reach the right people
Limited Flexibility
- Custom requests go to the back of line
- Weeks to confirm simple changes
- Less adaptable to your project needs
Same Components, Smarter Sourcing
Same Components. Smarter Sourcing.
The reliability of a data center genset is determined by its engine, alternator, controller, and switchgear. ZC Power sources the same Tier-1 componentry as the Western OEMs, with factory-direct pricing.
Engine
Cummins / Perkins / Yuchai / Weichai
Alternator
Stamford / Leroy-Somer / Faraday
Controller
Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) / SmartGen
Switchgear
ABB / Schneider Electric
Same Engineering Foundation
Core components comparable to Tier-1 OEM channels.
100% Full-Load Tested
Every generator is load bank tested in our national-standard test center before dispatch.
30-50% Lower CapEx
Factory-direct sourcing removes dealer markup and lowers your total cost.
Product Range & Custom Engineering
Built to Your Specs. Engineered for Your Mission.
From capacity and configuration to extreme environments and control systems, ZC Power delivers gensets engineered to your load, your site, and your redundancy tier.
Capacity
Diesel generator sets with multi-unit parallel synchronization for N+1 and 2N redundancy.
Configurations
Open, sound-attenuated silent below 75 dB at 7m, and 20ft / 40ft containerized genset rooms for rapid Tier build-out.
Custom Voltage & Frequency
Single- or three-phase, matched to your grid standard and UPS input specs.
Extreme-Environment Engineering
High-altitude derating, extreme-heat cooling, anti-corrosion coatings for coastal salt-spray, and dust filtration for desert sites.
AMF / ATS Integration
Millisecond grid-failure detection and clean transfer tuned to your UPS input tolerance.
Built for Emerging-Market Data Centers
Engineered for Where Others Underserve.
Tier-1 OEM dealer networks are thin where the grid is least reliable. ZC Power is engineered for the data centers they underserve, across Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and South America.
Unstable Grids Demand More
Longer, more frequent run-hours are common. Our units are built for sustained standby duty, not occasional blips.
Built for Harsh Climates
50°C heat, monsoon humidity, desert dust, and coastal salt are handled through custom cooling, filtration, and anti-corrosion engineering.
Complex Import Logistics Handled End-to-End
Container loading, customs documentation, and shipping to 50+ countries, backed by 20+ years of export experience.
Lead-Time Advantage
Factory-direct means your order is on the line, not in a dealer queue behind hyperscale contracts.
Quality Assurance & Proof
Will It Start, Clean, The Moment It Has To?
The question is never “is it cheap?” It is “will it start, clean, the moment it has to?” Our answer is documented, not claimed.
National-Standard Testing
100% full-load bank testing before dispatch. Rated output is verified, not estimated.
Certified
ISO 9001, CE, and CCC.
Source Manufacturer Since 1999

Direct Accountability
You speak with the engineers who built your unit.
Lifetime OEM Parts
Authentic, traceable parts air-shipped direct, with optional on-site commissioning.
What Our Customers See
- Millisecond AMF detection verified under load-bank conditions
- Clean output accepted by the UPS on first transfer
- Saved 15% on fuel costs through optimized engine cooling
- Runtime increased by 40% with upgraded base fuel tanks
- CapEx a fraction of Tier-1 OEM channels for equivalent componentry
What Our Customers Say
We specified a 60Hz, 45°C-rated 2000kVA containerized unit for our West Africa colocation site. It commissioned clean and synchronized with our UPS on the first test, at roughly half the OEM channel quote. The savings let us fund a second N+1 unit.
Through a 30-hour regional blackout, our ZC Power gensets held the data center load without a single transfer failure. Dealing direct with the engineers who built the units made commissioning straightforward.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Real questions from data center operators. Straight answers from engineers.
01
What size generator does a data center need?
Sizing depends on your critical IT load, UPS capacity, redundancy tier (N+1 or 2N), and required runtime. The free guide walks through the calculation step by step, or talk to an engineer for a site-specific specification.
02
How long can a data center run on a diesel generator?
With extended-base or external fuel tanks, a correctly specified genset can run for days and be refueled indefinitely. The UPS handles the first minutes; the genset carries the hours and days after.
03
What is N+1 vs 2N generator redundancy?
N+1 adds one standby unit beyond required capacity; 2N provides a fully redundant parallel system. We configure multi-unit parallel synchronization cabinets to your redundancy tier, with load-sharing controllers managing the fleet.
04
Are your components the same as Caterpillar or Cummins?
We offer Cummins and Perkins engines alongside Yuchai and Weichai, with Stamford and Leroy-Somer alternators, DSE controllers, and ABB or Schneider switchgear. The component BOM is comparable to Tier-1 OEM channels; the difference is factory-direct pricing and custom engineering agility.
05
Can you customize voltage, frequency, and containerization?
Yes. We engineer to your exact grid standard, 50Hz or 60Hz, single- or three-phase, and package in 20ft or 40ft containerized genset rooms for rapid Tier build-out.
06
Do you provide shipping, installation, commissioning, and after-sales support?
Yes. We manage export logistics and customs documentation, provide remote installation guidance, offer optional on-site commissioning, and supply lifetime OEM parts with direct engineering support.
